TowerFall is a video game of fighting arena developed by Matt Thorson in which up to four players compete using arrows and jumping on the head of the enemy 1 , 2 .
The game was first released on Ouya June 25, 2013, and will be followed by (in order) versions PlayStation 4 , Microsoft Windows , Linux and OS X as the TowerFall Ascension .
Up to four players compete in closed arenas, fully displayed on the screen and the edges communicate (if a player leaves the bottom of the screen it will reappear at the top and vice versa, and to the right and the left of the screen). Each character present on the screen, each controlled by a player, is equipped with a bow and a limited number of arrows. Each arrow shot can be recovered where she fell to be pulled again. Arrows with different effects (homing, faster, bouncing …) can be acquired in boxes (or by defects present within the parameters of the game) 1 .
According to the game modes, players must then survive or eliminate a maximum of opponents (individuals and teams), knowing that a character is eliminated if:
he is hit by an arrow;
another character jumps on him.
The quest mode has appeared with TowerFall Ascension . It allows one or two players through the different arenas TowerFall confronting waves of enemies with different abilities and movements. Each arena has several areas and ends with a boss
Also appeared with TowerFall Ascension , the trial mode allows a player to remove stationary targets in a minimum of time. This is the only mode playable exclusively only
