Street Fighter X Tekken ( ストリートファイターX鉄拳 , Sutorīto Faïta Kurosu Tekken ? ) (Pronounced Cross ) is a video game to fight jointly developed by Capcom and Dimps and published by Capcom. This is the first crossover featuring the Street Fighter and Tekken series . The game was announced at Comic Con 2010 in San Diego . The game was released in 2012 on PS3 , Xbox 360 , Windows and PS Vita.
The game engine is based on the one of Street Fighter IV , the characters of Tekken are modeled in cel-shading just like the characters of Street Fighter . The game system is in 2D 2 .
Namco Bandai Games is not part of the development team. However, the company is developing Tekken X Street Fighter on the basis of the Tekken 6 fighting game . The game system will be in 3D and the graphics will be closer to Tekken 6 .
As a result of the players ‘criticism, a free update titled Street Fighter X Tekken 2013 was released on January 29, 2013, and installed many changes within the game that Capcom determined as a result of the players’ notices and complaints .
At Capcom’s Comic Con 2010 conference , Yoshinori Ono, dressed for the occasion in white kimono , talks about the future for Street Fighter . Suddenly a person calls him in the back of the room. This is the producer of Tekken 6 , Katsuhiro Harada . The whole room is stoical , not conscious of the purpose of this apparition. It follows a long staged good child by the two producers that ends with a confrontation in a game of video game. Without any official announcement, spectators attend the first crossover mixing the world of Tekken and the world of Street Fighter1.
Katsuhiro Harada (producer of Tekken ) and Yoshinori Ono (producer of Street Fighter ) say they let the sales and the notes of journalists to decide between the two games when the time comes: “We want to challenge ourselves on all the aspects, as well as on the sales , and seduce fans of both series .
Indeed, each of the games will be developed internally without any intervention of the neighboring company, just to see who will make the best version of this concept of crossover 1 .
During development, discussions with Sony launched the idea of including a character as a guest. The Cole character is chosen and developed under his first version from inFamous because he seemed to be adapted with his movements for a fighting game. It turned out later that Sucker Punch , the company developing the inFamous license for Sony, was developing a second episode . The developers of Capcom had very little visibility on this suite. Sucker Punch showed them the game in its development and Capcom, for the sake of consistency, decided to rework the character by incorporating the weapons acquired in the second opus
