Attached to the air force to land or even the Marines , more than 2 million people wear the uniform in the United States. Among them, 50,000 soldiers are under the authority of the Special Operations Command.
The Tier 1 Operators, selected among these, are the elite, above even Special Forceshighly trained. Their number, even if it is not official, is of the order of a few hundred. These are weapons of war living with extreme precision. They are experts in the deployment mastered violence.
The video game Medal of Honor was developed in collaboration with Tier 1 Operators and strongly inspired. Players will step into the unforgiving and hostile conditions of Afghanistan today embody these fighters.
This game is set in a current controversy conflict during which many soldiers and civilians were killed, and the subject of debate as to its legitimacy 9 .
An association of families of US soldiers killed in Afghanistan has blasted this video game during its development, arguing that it could be played by civilians, it would embody the Taliban and relive after the character that you play die, which could also pass for propaganda to the conflict 10 . A British minister Liam Fox called for boycotting the game he said “if anti-British” and in which we can play a Taliban 11 .
Families are also complaints that the enemies of the game would be called “Taliban”. The creators of the game have therefore had to rename them “Opposing Force”.
